ABOUT NMFD

NMFD (New Music Forum Dankook) is the annual forum and performance of Music Technology in the School of New Music at Dankook University. It brings together research in music and technology, exploring how inquiry develops into works and live performance.

The forum shares research questions, experiments and approaches to implementation. In the performance, each team connects sound, playing, space and movement through its own artistic practice. With a new theme each year, NMFD offers an ongoing meeting place for diverse approaches to research and creation.

Music Technology connects the exploration of sound with creative music making. Building on music theory, composition, performance and acoustics, students study computer music composition, sound synthesis, music programming, sound design and live electronic music performance. The program prepares musicians to work across music, film, games and interdisciplinary arts.
